WaveDialer Setup Guide
Get up and running in under 5 minutes.
1 Install the Chrome Extension
Install WaveDialer from the Chrome Web Store or your CRM's marketplace. Once installed, you'll see a small phone icon in your browser toolbar.
Tip: Pin the extension to your toolbar for quick access. Right-click the extension icon and select "Pin."
2 Connect Your CRM Account
When you first open WaveDialer, you'll be prompted to authorize access to your CRM account. This allows WaveDialer to:
- Log calls to your contacts automatically
- Send and receive SMS through your CRM conversations
- Sync recordings to the contact timeline
Click "Authorize" and follow the OAuth flow. You'll only need to do this once.
3 Set Up Your Telnyx Account
WaveDialer uses Telnyx as the telephony provider. You'll need:
- A Telnyx account (Sign up here)
- A SIP Connection configured for WebRTC
- At least one phone number purchased on Telnyx
Creating a SIP Connection
- Go to your Telnyx Portal
- Navigate to SIP Connections → Create
- Select Credential-based authentication
- Save your
SIP username and SIP password
- Enable WebRTC on the connection
4 Configure WaveDialer
Enter your Telnyx credentials in the WaveDialer settings:
- SIP Username: From your Telnyx SIP Connection
- SIP Password: From your Telnyx SIP Connection
- Caller ID: Select your preferred outbound phone number
5 Start Calling
Navigate to any contact in your CRM and you'll see the WaveDialer button. Click it to open the dialer, then:
- Make a call: Click the call button or click any phone number on the page
- Send SMS: Use the messaging tab in the dialer
- View recordings: After a call, the recording appears in the contact's conversation
Tip: WaveDialer automatically detects the contact you're viewing and pre-fills the phone number.
Important: Make sure your browser has microphone permissions enabled for your CRM domain. WaveDialer needs mic access to make voice calls.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to keep the Telnyx tab open?
No. WaveDialer runs as a Chrome Extension, so it works on any tab as long as you're in your CRM.
Where are my recordings stored?
Recordings are stored securely on our servers for 30 days. They're automatically synced to your CRM contact's conversation timeline. After 30 days, recordings are automatically deleted.
Can I receive inbound calls?
Yes. As long as WaveDialer is open and connected, incoming calls to your Telnyx numbers will ring in your browser.
What happens if I lose internet during a call?
WaveDialer has built-in auto-recovery. If the connection drops, it will attempt to reconnect and retry logging your call data automatically.
How much does it cost?
WaveDialer itself is free to install. You only pay for Telnyx usage (calls and SMS) at their published rates, which are typically much lower than native CRM telephony rates.
